Project Overview 

FIP in the Gulf of Thailand has emerged to solve the situation and developing the fishery to responsible and sustainable through the supply chain. The international standard, MarinTrust Multi-species has been chosen to assess the fishery for finding the GAP and create the action plan to be implemented.​

2020

  • Collaboration with MarinTrust on Multispecies Fishery Criteria Development.

  • FIP mixed trawl fishery Gulf of Thailand has officially been accepted onto the MarinTrust Improver Programme (IP).

2021

  • MarinTrust has approved 2 fishmeal plants into Improver Programme (IP).

  • Re-assessment against the latest version of MarinTrust Multispecies Assessment Methodology.

  • Agricultural Research Development Agency (ARDA) has approved funding research for mixed trawl fishery FIP Gulf of Thailand.

2022

  • Four fishmeal plants have officially been approved by MarinTrust into the Improver Program (IP). 

  • Updated Fishery Action Plan (FAP) has been agreed by stakeholders and approved by MarinTrust.

  • Agricultural Research Development Agency (ARDA) has continually provided 2nd year funding support for Research Projects to improve sustainability of mixed trawl fishery in line with the Gulf of Thailand FIP.
