Department of Fisheries welcomes The 8th Thai Local Fisheries Conference
On Monday, 22th November, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Department of Fisheries, Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Acting for the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries presided over the opening ceremony of the 8th National Folk Fisheries Conference, held during 22th -24th November 2021 at the Department of Fisheries. It is an annual general meeting of more than 53 local fisheries organizations from 19 coastal provinces of Thailand. Progress will be summarized on policy proposals and solutions to issues such as supporting local fisheries community organizations for fisheries resource management. Thai fisheries statistics amendments to the law Fisheries Royal Decree B.E. 2015 and its amendments on 3 issues of indigenous fisheries Issuing licenses for local fishing to small fishermen Registration of local fishing Vessels Establishment of a local fishery fund Review of marine aquaculture sites Ensuring that the government supports the quality of aquatic animal production and the aquatic animal standard certification system, principles of catching of local fishermen, establishing a “sustainable fisherman school”, etc.
