DMCR Finds a Sea Turtle Entangled in Fishing Nets in Rayong Province

On February 13th, 2023, the Eastern Gulf Coast Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center was informed by local fishermen, The discovery of a sea turtle entangled in a fishing net of an unknown species around Pak Nam Prasae, Klaeng District, Rayong Province and brought sea turtles to the staff.

From checking it was found to be an Eretmochelys imbricata turtle, 32 cm long, 26 cm wide, and 2.45 kg weighing, a juvenile with no microchip number was found from a thorough physical examination found that the turtle also responsive with pale mucous membranes gas in the gastrointestinal tract was found during radiological examination and have more water in the body cavity than usual hematology test results anemia found low proteinuria and liver disease, however, the turtle received initial treatment and then will recover the body, when it returns to normal, it will be released back to nature.
