Explore The Diversity of Seagrass Habitats, Matlang Island

On 18th December, 2021 Department of Marine and Coastal Resources by Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center, Central Gulf of Thailand survey and assess the status of seagrass resources and diversity of marine life in the seagrass resources at Koh Matlang Island, Koh Samui District, Surat Thani Province, found 5 types of seagrass, namely Enhalus acoroides, Halophila, Halodule uninervis, Halodule pinifolia, and Halophila decipiens, found in the inner reef area. It looks like it's spread all over the area. covering an area of ​​approximately 150 rai, in good condition, at a depth of 1.2-1.5 meters, the temperature was 29 degrees Celsius, the salinity was 32 ppt. the pH value was 8.0 . There were 20 species of aquatic animals in the seagrass area, of which 16 were fish, 1 type of octopus, 1 species of leech and two crab predominant aquatic species were Yellowback Fusilier and Scribbled leatherjacket filefish.
