Explore two types of Dolphins found near the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan

On September 19th, 2022, the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources by Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center, Upper Gulf of Thailand on the west coast. The survey, monitor, and assess the number of marine mammals in distant shore populations. in the sea area Sam Roi Yot Subdistrict, Khao Daeng Subdistrict, and Kui Nuea Subdistrict, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province By naval survey method, Line transect pattern, the survey result showed no marine mammals. far-flung population, However, 2 species of near-shore populations were found: (1) Finless porpoise: Coastal Neophocaena phocaenoides, Sam Roi Yot Sub-district, 15 individuals; (2) Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphin: Coastal Sousa chinensis, 8 in Kui Nuea Sub-district. introductory sea The preliminary factors of seawater quality were found with mean pH of 7.94, a water temperature of 29.6 °C, dissolved oxygen content of 5.95 mg/l, and salinity of 31.7 ppt at a water depth of 20-40 m.
