On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the Thai Sustainable Fisheries Roundtable (TSFR), together with the research team of the project entitled “Risk Assessment of the Impacts of Trawl Fisheries on Endangered, Threatened, and Protected (ETP) Species and Habitats in the Gulf of Thailand,” held a consultation meeting with the Department of Fisheries at the Shark Meeting Room, Fisheries Monitoring Center (FMC), Department of Fisheries.

The meeting aimed to discuss collaborative approaches for field data collection, coordination with local agencies, and fisheries data support for research and project assessment activities under the Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) framework.

Participants also attended a presentation on the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) operated by the Department of Fisheries, which provided valuable insights into fisheries monitoring and data management systems. The information is expected to contribute significantly to spatial analysis and risk assessment related to Endangered, Threatened, and Protected (ETP) species.

The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant divisions of the Department of Fisheries, TSFR working group members, the research team, and experts from the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) (ARDA). The discussion served as an important platform for exchanging information and strengthening cooperation in support of sustainable fisheries development in Thailand in line with international standards.
