Workshop on Capacity Building for Shark and Ray Conservation in Thailand

On Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, at Hotel Novotel Sukumvit 20, The Director-General of the Department of Fisheries Chaired the opening of the Workshop on Shark and Ray Conservation Capacity Building in Thailand between the Department of Fisheries, WildAid Thailand, and World Wildlife Fund (WWF Thailand).


Such a meeting Organized in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, WildAid Thailand, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF Thailand), it was a workshop for 3 key stakeholder groups: government agencies, Fishery business group travel agencies, and operators with the objective of enhancing the conservation potential of sharks and stingrays in Thailand as well as preparing for the preparation of a report according to the National Action Plan due in 2024 as an important basis for pushing forward.

The conservation and research will lead to cooperation in the conservation of sharks and stingrays to ensure the sustainability of marine ecosystems both in Thailand and the world.
