On 26 February 2026, representatives from the Global Seafood Alliance (GSA), an international organization dedicated to advancing standards, certification, and sustainability in the seafood industry, met with the Thai Sustainable Fisheries Roundtable (TSFR). The TSFR delegation was led by Mr. Pornsil Patcharintanakul, President of the Thai Feed Mill Association, and Mr. Amnuay Uear-Areemitr, President of the Thai Fishmeal Producer Association, together with executives from both associations.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange information, strengthen mutual understanding of each organization’s roles and missions, and explore potential areas for collaboration. Discussions also covered possible support for the Responsible Seafood Summit 2026, which will take place from 21–24 September 2026 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok. The summit will serve as an international platform bringing together representatives from government agencies, the private sector, academia, and non-governmental organizations to promote responsible seafood production and sustainable supply chains in line with global standards.

During the meeting, TSFR also shared updates on the Gulf of Thailand Fishery Improvement Project (FIP), highlighting collaborative efforts among stakeholders across Thailand’s fisheries supply chain. The project aims to strengthen fisheries management based on scientific principles and internationally recognized standards through cooperation among the private sector, government agencies, and academic institutions.

The discussion reflects a shared commitment to advancing the sustainability of Thailand’s fisheries and aquafeed industries, while reinforcing international confidence in the country’s seafood supply chain.
