Department of Fisheries and TSFR meeting to update information for FIP in the Gulf of Thailand.

18th December 2020, Time 4:30 pm at Department of Fisheries, The meeting participants are TSFR, project advisors Assoc.Prof.Dr.Kungwan Juntarashote, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Charoen Nitithamyong, Mr.Rangsan Chayakul, Prof.Dr. Tuanthong Jutagate, and the research team from Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, a president of the meeting by Dr.Vicharn Ingsrisawang.


The objective of the meeting was to draft a proposal proposed to the Agricultural Research Development Agency (ARDA) for funding in order to operate the Gulf of Thailand Trawl Fishery Improvement Project (FIP). The meeting agreed that the first important activity that should be implemented in Year 1st is Target Species to analyse sensitive aquatic species by studying Productivity Sustainable Analysis (PSA) and Stock assessment, which the Department of Fisheries has a database and has continued to collect data every year. Also the information on 15 main species of aquatic animals found in trawl fishing gear that the Department of Fisheries has, will enables data to be analysed and predicted initially.


At the end, this meeting has created an understanding and mutual agreement on the project management by dividing the team responsible for the development of the project's activities and the research team of the Department of Fisheries to be responsible for the coordination, and exchange of information between TSFR and the Department of Fisheries to be able to work according to the project development plan until the success of the project.
