Meeting to Deliver Policies for Thai Delegations Before Traveling to Attend the COP 27 Meeting

On November 7th, 2022, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Chaired the policy delegation meetings for the Thai delegations at the 27th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) and other relevant meetings with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment along with the Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Ambassador of Thailand to Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt as well as executives and officials under the Ministry Attend the meeting via video conference system. The COP 27 meeting is scheduled to be held from 3rd-18th November 2022 in the Arab Republic of Egypt.


On this occasion, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment presented a policy for the Thai delegations to attend COP 27, emphasizing Thailand's climate change efforts. Adopting the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy with Sustainable Development of His Majesty King Rama IX and King Rama 10 as a guideline in formulating policies and operations on natural resource and environmental management Through the work process on climate change is integrated into the National Strategy 2018-2037, and the master plan under the national strategy National Economic and Social Development Plan included promoting the implementation of bio-economy models circular economy and green economy (BCG Economy Model) as well as the framework of Thailand's negotiating stance at the 2022-2023 Convention shall be based on the principle of supporting negotiations under the Convention and the Paris Agreement for the mutual benefit of the international community.

In addition, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Assigned to the Department of Marine and Coast follow up on behaviour change in coral bleaching that Saudi Arabia will be exhibited at the event to apply the results to benefit the coral ecosystem as well as being a guideline for more efficient research and restoration of coral resources in Thailand.
